Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Japanese cars are a favorite with many people these days, and you will get just as many Japanese cars on the roads these days as you will see American model cars and German cars. Some of these zippy little Japanese cars might even be sporting a used Japanese engine under the hood, but you would never know from their performance. Escort ZR3 Laser Shifter

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Radars and laser shifters are one of my favorite accessories for cars. I have an Audi R8 so quite often I must admit, I am driving above the limits. So I bought the Escort ZR3 Laser Shifter which sense incoming police radar and returns a shifted pulse, confusing the radar gun with an error message. It's programmed with a "receive only" mode for detecting but not shifting incoming signals. The ZR3's in-cab control display shows the source, strength and direction of incoming police laser signals. Gone are the days when I used to get speeding tickets, now I just turn my shifter on and it's all gone.

Both Variable and Affordable

Monday, February 18th, 2008

With a variable life insurance policy, the parent chooses the types of investments that fit his or her risk profile and time frame. When a policy is purchased to fund a child's college education, the time frame is determined by the number of years before the child is expected to enter college. The return is based on the performance of the investments chosen by the policy owner, who can alter the investment mix as market conditions change. To reduce risk, policy owners generally diversify assets among several investment options.

Lemon Laws

Monday, February 11th, 2008

So I think I’ve been ripped off, and I’m going to have to look into the local lemon laws. Seriously, I’m sick and tired of businesses trying to break it off in their customers, and I’m not putting up with it any more.
The Alabama Lemon Laws on this particular issue are expecially tough on sleazy dealers. I’m going to nail them good. I’ve tried to play nice, but they have stonewalled me, so they’re asking for it.
One thing is for sure - I’ll never be doing business this this guy again, or anyone else at that place, for that matter.

Need of better helmet lock system

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

I think it would be better to device some kind of a locking system that allows the helmet to be upright, like sitting on top of the seat, but locked so miscreants cannot make off with your skid lid. Slide your forward seat back and look at the lower rear corner of your tank. Neither will stop somebody who wants your custom-painted with a razor from slicing the strap. They just have to repair the cut strap with a new D-ring. I lost a nice helmet that way.

My dad gave a speech on finding the perfect backhoe for the job.

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

My mom informed me that my dad was giving a speech at a convention. My dad had always been there for me, attending my ballet recitals, softball games, and spelling bees. I figured attending the conference and listening to his speech was the least I could do to repay him. My dad took the stage. As he approached the podium, I looked at the program. His speech was on finding the perfect backhoe for the job. I really didn't have much of an interest in the topic, but I was there to support my dad, not the information he was presenting. The audience was obviously interested. When his speech was over, he got a standing ovation. But, what do you expect from a bunch of contractors and construction workers. They're interested in things like taht. I, on the other hand, am not. My dad thanked me for coming. He asked why I would possibly want to come and listen to a speech on backhoes. I told him that I loved him and just wanted to hear the sound of his voice. He chuckled a little, then gave me a big hug. I knew he was happy to see me there, and I know he was even more surprised that I showed up.
