Learning About Nursing Home Abuse

Monday, September 1st, 2008

I really need to learn more about Nursing Home Abuse.
My grandmother had a nightmare experience at the first nursing home we had her in. It was awful.
I never thought I’d have to deal with Elder Abuse And Neglect in my lifetime, but you never know what life will throw at you.
We’re not going to let this happen again, of course. We’ve moved her to a better home, and are watching over her much more closely.
Maybe you can help settle the matter - feel free to comment.

Planning for the Future

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Many people wish to put off such seemingly grim planning as that of maintaining your will and estate. However, the best time to start senior care estate planning is now. When you begin, there are a few important elements to keep in mind. Namely, that you should always make time for taking inventory of your assets. A missed investment or overlooked policy could have drastic consequences within the future. You must also make sure that as you plan your will, your heirs understand it clearly. This will help put an end to any unneeded bickering or confusion. It is a difficult process to go through, but it is also smart and a good thing to do for those you leave behind.

Florida assisted living for senior citizens

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

I was recently having a discussion with my parents about their retirement plans. They both enjoy the warm weather and have considered moving to Florida. I suggested that they consider Florida assisted living. This is an independent structure that allows seniors to live in the grounds where support services can easily be drawn upon should the need arise. It is not the same as a nursing home. Many of these services are a great way to maintain your independence and pay only for essential services that you need.

retirement communities in Arkansas

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

The retirement communities in Arkansas offer inhabitants studio, one bedroom and two bedroom rooms and suites. You can choose depending upon your requirement and budget. An important point that I would like to mention is some of the Retirement Communities In Arkansas are funded while others run on the profit generated by charging the inhabitants. The ones that are not funded will charge more than the funded ones. You should check out all these details before moving into a retirement community.

Points To Remember When Buying Electric Wheelchairs

Friday, December 7th, 2007

When buying electric wheelchairs, you have to make perfectly sure about their utility and their comfort. For the sake of comfort, check whether the backrest is convenient enough, the armrests are at a convenient position and whether the seats have good upholstery. Also see that the electric wheelchair can be adjusted according to requirement. Then you will have to check each and every control properly. See how maneuverable these chairs are. There should be an adjustment for speed. Some electric wheelchairs will go quite fast, but it will be a pain to turn them in any direction. Try out the wheelchair yourself before you are buying it for someone, and then make them try it out too.
