Tax code modifications
Saturday, September 13th, 2008Property taxes are governed by the state’s Property Tax Code (a complex document which defines how the respective appraisal districts arrive at their values). The Tax Code is constantly undergoing changes and modifications that need to be continually monitored, where property taxes are assessed based on what the government determines is the value of the property. It is expressed as a dollar amount per $100 of assessed value, where properties that have already received Certificates, or where rehabilitation has already begun, will not be affected by a taxing district’s “opt out”.
