Post-Prostrate Cancer Surgery Care
A follow-up plan will need to be sketched out by your doctor after prostate cancer surgery. Your physician will want to monitor your condition frequently. This is vital to ensuring that you do not have a recurrence (or the disease returning). Other procedures will need to be performed less frequently—anywhere from semiannually to once per year. Digital rectal exams, bone scans, PSA blood tests, and other imaging tests are all routines that will need to take place after prostate cancer surgery.
